About Diana Davis
Diana's hometown is Fort Worth, Texas – “Cowtown USA.” Born the oldest of four children, she loved writing and coming up with ideas, even as a child. Her list-making abilities were legendary. Her father was a deacon, and both parents were vitally involved in their church’s ministry. She became a Christian as a young girl, and enjoyed involvement in their local church.
Diana graduated from Dallas Baptist University, where she fell in love with Steve Davis. They were engaged a month after they met, and they’ve celebrated thirty-five years of marriage. Parents of three amazing children, now young adults, Steve and Diana served as a pastor and pastor’s wife in a brand new church plant, medium sized church and large church.
Diana coordinated their church’s exploding women’s ministry program for many years, and enjoyed working with preteens, nearlyweds, young singles and new church members. They now reside in Indianapolis, where Steve serves as the Executive Director for the State Convention of Baptists in Indiana. A popular women’s conference speaker, Diana has ministered to women’s groups internationally, and she especially loves encouraging pastor’s wives and deacons’ wives.
Diana has been a frequent contributor to numerous Christian publications, including Let’s Worship, Deacon Magazine and numerous Baptist state papers. Her enthusiasm for God’s work in the local church inspired her to write a syndicated column called “Fresh Ideas,” sharing simple ideas with churches across the country. In her new book, Fresh Ideas (B&H Publishing 2007), these ideas are gathered and categorized, offering a thousand ideas for growing a thriving church.
She is currently working on two other book projects about women’s ministry and deacon wives. Diana lives with her husband in downtown Indianapolis. They enjoy Colorado vacations, hiking, walking their Sheltie, Prancer, and eating Mexican food.
